Just before defending his Bachelor’s thesis, Mattias received a call with the news that he had been selected to start as a Project Consultant in the Young Hub Program at TriFinance. "Graduating with a contract in hand and being able to enjoy a few months of vacation before starting my first job was the ideal scenario for me. I was specifically looking for a job where I could continue learning a lot after my Bachelor’s in Business Management. The program for young graduates at TriFinance offers me that opportunity."
The practical experience he gains during his projects allows Mattias to refine his knowledge of bookkeeping. Additionally, specific training for starting finance consultants enables him to delve even deeper into the subject matter. "I find the TriFinance network particularly valuable as a starter: I can always turn to someone with my questions, from fellow young graduates to experienced colleague consultants or the internal BaseCamp team."
- Combining Practical Experience and Training: Mattias leverages practical project experience, training, and the expertise from the TriFinance network to accelerate his growth as an emerging finance professional.
- Efficiency Improvements: During his first project in Accounts Payable at an international food company, Mattias successfully implemented substantial efficiency improvements.
- Consulting with Balance: For Mattias, his job as a finance consultant at TriFinance feels like responsible job-hopping with one employer, offering a healthy work-life balance that allows him to pursue his athletic ambitions alongside his career.
"I was almost graduated, wanted to do 'something' in finance, but wasn't sure yet which specific direction to choose within this broad field. It appealed to me more to start working and broaden my knowledge that way rather than pursuing an additional Master's degree. But at the same time, I doubted myself: will I be up for it?"
When Mattias learned about the Young Hub Program at TriFinance through a contact on LinkedIn, he was quickly enthusiastic about the combination of diverse projects and strong support.

Team Spirit
In his free time, you can find Mattias on the handball field, playing in second national. "An individual sport would not be a good fit for me. I enjoy team sports, and it was great to start my first project alongside five other TriFinance consultants. At an international food company, we strengthened the Accounts Payable department."
Due to the launch of new bookkeeping software, there was a significant backlog in processing incoming invoices. "Initially, the focus was on clearing that backlog, but my interest in data and systems quickly led me to seek ways to make the workflow more efficient, such as optimizing the autocoding. These adjustments may seem minor, but if one structural change saves one minute per invoice, and this happens 30 times a week, the time savings add up quickly."
As a fresh graduate, I could not have set up those optimizations on my own without the support of the internal BaseCamp team at TriFinance.
The TriFinance Young Hub Program is a trainee program for recent graduates in finance. It includes a combination of mentoring and soft and hard skill training that allows young potentials to add strong value for their client while accelerating their own growth path as from their first project in bookkeeping or controlling.
The Young Hub Program starts with a week of training covering a range of finance and consulting skills. After this week, as a young potential, you are not only ready for your first client project, but you are guaranteed to have forged connections for life with your fellow Young Hubs.
Next, you'll gain experience in different companies. You start working on projects at which you get introduced to the basics of financial processes. At the same time, you will receive regular training in hard and soft skills that you can immediately put into practice.
This is how we give you all the tools you need to shape your own career path.
Making rapid strides through a targeted training program and personalized advice
These optimizations quickly allowed Mattias to take on additional tasks, such as supporting the Accounts Receivable department. He also set up automation via Power Query for booking leasing invoices, resulting in an efficiency gain of 5 working days per month for the team in supplier bookkeeping.
"As a recent graduate, I couldn't have set up those optimizations on my own without the support of the internal BaseCamp team at TriFinance. During the regular status meetings and mentoring conversations around your project, such solutions quickly start to crystallize."
The Young Hub week was intense, but super valuable.
In addition to the guidance on projects, the Young Hub Program also includes a series of specific training sessions. "As a recent graduate, you start at TriFinance by joining a Young Hub week. Together with the other starting graduates at that time, you get immersed in the TriFinance way of working and go through hard and soft skill training for starting consultants. That week was intense, but super valuable: you immediately forge a good bond with the other Young Hubs and colleagues from the BaseCamp team, you visit the different TriFinance offices and you prepare for your first project at the client. It makes sure you're all up to speed right away."
That first week is followed by a series of training days over a period of a year and a half. "The new knowledge you gain at those trainings can be used on your project the very next day. On the other hand, the project experience you have gained in the meantime allows you to dive deeper into the subject matter and ask specific questions to the experienced trainers. That's how you learn the most."
My ambition is to grow towards a job as a Plant Controller. Here I get the opportunity to gain the necessary experience and hone skills to achieve this.
Growing toward a role as Plant Controller
Through his first project experience, Mattias was able to narrow down his career plans for the future. "I now have a better idea of what the different roles within finance entail. My ambition is to grow into a job as Plant Controller, because that role puts you close to the production and you strongly see the impact of the decisions you help steer. But first, of course, I need to gain a lot more experience and gather the necessary skills. Here I get the chance to do that."
To help you realize your goals as a Project Consultant at TriFinance, in addition to regular development conversations, we make time annually for reflection and alignment on your ambitions. To me, working at TriFinance is like responsibly job hopping with one employer.
Responsible job hopping
"I like to think of working at TriFinance as responsible job hopping at the same employer. You can build up a very diverse experience through the variety of projects, companies, sectors and IT applications. At the same time, you can fall back on the strong TriFinance network and develop your own network. And last but not least: you also enjoy sufficient flexibility to keep your work-life in balance. I can combine my job with my sports ambitions and also enjoy being able to work on home working days with my girlfriend's dog next to me. The longer I work at TriFinance, the more convinced I am of my choice."
