'Bruxelles, ma belle.' When you think of Brussels, you might think of diversity, multiculturalism, multilingualism, but above all, warmth and a strong sense of community. All of that within an international context offers room for (career)opportunities. Brussels is one of the 6 locations in Belgium where TriFinance has an office, next to Antwerp, Ghent, Hasselt, Louvain-La-Neuve and Roeselare. This way, our consultants can have a taste of the variety of projects in different companies and sectors. Lander, Alizée & Zakarya talk about how they fulfill their ambition in the dynamics of our capital city at TriFinance Brussels, in order to accelerate their growth ⬇️

Who are Lander, Alizée and Zakarya?
  • Lander Van den Eynde is a 30-something that has swapped the green environment of ‘de Kempen’ for a place in the bustling center of Brussels. Lander is a sports enthusiast with an atypical career path, with a Master in Industrial Engineering, Management & Business Economics and a strong interest in economics, statistics and finance. After a first experience as Researcher and Project Manager, Lander chose the path towards finance and recently switched to a job as Project Consultant at TriFinance.
  • Alizée Jacquet is part of our young guard, or as we call them ‘Young Hubs’. With a Master in Communication and Business Economics, she has built a strong foundation for the start of her career, consciously choosing the consulting path at TriFinance. She attended the Young Hub Program to become more familiar with basic bookkeeping principles and hone both writing and presentation skills to get off to a flying start.
  • Zakarya El Yahyaoui grew up in Brussels and has always been intrigued by all things finance since a young age. After his studies, he gained experience in roles such as Credit Controller & Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper. By growing up in a multicultural city, he understands as no other that what unites us is not our commonalities, but rather our differences.

Growth with an international feel

Brussels. It isn’t just a city, but rather the beating heart of Europe. Settle yourself on a terrace and you can hear conversations in all kinds of different languages. Or take a walk starting from the charming Grand Place to the modern EU district. Working in Brussels can feel like a journey without boundaries, one that you can experience up close as a consultant at TriFinance. “A few years ago, I swapped the quiet ‘Kempen’ for vibrant Brussels. Determined to jumpstart my career in finance, I chose a job as Project Consultant at TriFinance. Initially, I was quite skeptical about working and living in Brussels, but I soon discovered that this city has so much to offer. My job as a Project Consultant at TriFinance offers a unique launch pad for my professional and personal growth: a variety of projects and companies, an international ambience, a strong network of driven colleagues and endless learning opportunities. What began as a leap of faith, grew into an adventure that keeps opening new doors for me,” says Lander.

Brussels is a very diverse city in terms of people, job opportunities and organizations. As a Project Consultant at TriFinance in Brussels you get a unique opportunity to experience this diversity firsthand.

Lander Van den Eynde, Project Consultant

Alizée also consciously chose a career as Project Consultant at TriFinance, emphasizing the combination of support and focus on growth. “At TriFinance, I have not only found a place to accelerate my career and thus grow in various finance roles, but also an environment in which I can flourish. My role as Project Consultant also provides the opportunity to excel professionally and personally, as I feel a certain transformation and boost in my self-confidence, learning to stay calm and focused in an often dynamic and unpredictable environment such as finance. The fact that I can do all of this in an international environment at TriFinance in Brussels, is the icing on the cake,” explains Alizée.

Zakarya grew up in the heart of Brussels, and knows the advantages of an international and multicultural environment as no other. “I quickly learned to speak different languages, adapted to all kinds of environments and discovered that what unites us is not our commonalities, but rather our differences. Today, I can actively use all these qualities in my job as Project Consultant at TriFinance. Next to that, I am also convinced that you can only become a better version of yourself if you continue to actively grow, both as a person and in your career. My role as Project Consultant is ideal to do just that, as you come into contact with a multitude of different environments, people, industries and languages. For me, it’s inspiring and it gives me the necessary push to step out of my comfort zone,” adds Zakarya.

Each role you pursue as a Project Consultant, gives you new and unique insights every time that sharpen your hard and soft skills and general knowledge so you can apply them to your next project,” explains Alizée.

By growing up in a multicultural city, I have learned that what unites us is not our commonalities, but rather our differences.

Zakarya El Yahyaoui, Project Consultant

Zakarya started as a Project Consultant at TriFinance two years ago and already has an interesting growth path. “As a Project Consultant at TriFinance, I feel like I can take my career in my own hands. I have already successfully completed 3 AP/AR and GL bookkeeping projects and am now taking my first steps within controlling. From the start, I have expressed my ambition and one of the strengths of TriFinance is the support and steering you get from the BaseCamp team. They help you discover and further develop your various interests and strengths,” adds Zakarya.

“During your project, there are several moments to check in with someone from the BaseCamp team. This proactive approach assures that you can discuss certain challenges that might pop up during your project. You also get assigned a Career Advisor, someone who will support you in reaching your longterm career goals,” says Alizée.

Lander: “I too have already been able to take valuable steps in my career thanks to my role as a Project Consultant and the training possibilities. I have honed my bookkeeping skills and find that I am more efficient in programs such as Excel and Power Query. I was also able to improve my soft skills, such as effective communication and preparing for interviews. Soon I will start with a Controlling Track to broaden my knowledge in for example Power BI, data modelling, cost controlling and budgeting. Knowledge sharing and learning culture are two very important things at TriFinance.”

My advice to people at the start of their career? Be open to change. Working in an international and multicultural environment can be both inspiring and rewarding.

International but still regional? Thanks to our offices at 6 different locations in Belgium, you can always work in your own region. “It is a misconception that you are always on the road as a Project Consultant. At TriFinance, we find a good work-life balance very important, and working close to your home is a great part of that. Through a strong cooperation between our various offices and services, we ensure a good internal mobility as well,” explains Nina Collier (Talent Partner at TriFinance).

Making my way

Multilingiulism, a strong community feeling, discovering new places, meeting new people, an international ambience. There are many advantages of working at TriFinance in Brussels. “The joie de vivre, the fun get-togethers and after work moments, all sorts of events. Work-life balance really is a key point at TriFinance. As a sports enthusiast, for me this translates to an evening run through the Jubelpark after working hours or attending an event at the office in Brussels,” says Lander.

Working in an international environment might feel challenging. As a Project Consultant it might feel like you have to start at the beginning each time: meeting new colleagues, learning to work with (new) systems and programs and adapt to a new environment. Having an open mindset is a particularly valuable and important asset. “My advice for anyone considering switching to a role as Project Consultant? Be open to continuous learning and embrace change. Consultancy at TriFinance offers you a dynamic environment where you will encounter various challenges and have the opportunity to grow rapidly.
